Sg Snacks India Pvt. Ltd. is located out in Bodikaman Village. It is a quiet area near Satyanpatti in the Dindigal district. Most of the people working here come from the nearby houses. We spend the day preparing different types of snacks. You can usually smell the spices and the oil from the road before you even see the building. It’s a busy place inside with everyone moving around to package things up. We have big bags of ingredients stacked up in the corner. The floors have to be swept constantly because of the flour and bits that fall. It gets pretty hot near the cooking area, especially in the middle of the summer months. I handle a lot of the logistics, making sure the bags get on the right trucks to head out of the village. We aren't some massive corporate entity; we are just a bunch of locals making food. Sometimes the rain makes the dirt road outside a bit messy, but the trucks still manage. We stop for tea in the afternoon and sit outside for a bit. It is good work that keeps everyone in the village busy. We focus on making sure the snacks taste like they should every single time. It is a lot of effort but we like seeing the bags loaded up and gone.
