Sri Kanaka Durga Springs

Down in Parsigutta, you’ll find Sri Kanaka Durga Springs at our place, 11/3/357/20/4/1. It’s tucked away in a bit of a maze of streets, but we like it here. Working with springs is very specific work. There’s always the sound of machinery and the smell of oil in the air. It’s not a clean job, and our hands are usually a bit greasy by the time lunch rolls around, but that is just part of it. The address is quite long on paper, but once you know the turns in Parsigutta, it’s easy enough to find. We have been working out of this small unit for a good bit of time. It’s mostly just us focusing on the tasks at hand. Sometimes it gets really hot inside, so we keep the doors open to catch whatever breeze comes through the alleyway. We don't spend much time on decorations or making things look pretty for visitors. The focus is always on the metal and the machines. Neighbors know us by the clinking sounds of the springs. We’ve seen the area change over the years, with more houses popping up, but we’re still here doing the same thing. It is a humble setup. We drink tea from the stall around the corner twice a day. The work is steady and keeps us busy. We don’t have fancy signs, just the name on the door and the work on the benches. It’s a quiet life in a loud shop. Most days we are just making sure things are ready.
