Sama Madhavi

I am Sama Madhavi. I live here at House No. EWS-43 in the K.P.H.B. Colony, which is in the Kukatpally area of Hyderabad. I’m staying with Kondal Reddy. This colony is one of the biggest in Asia, or so they say, and it certainly feels like it when you’re trying to navigate the blocks. Our house is a modest one, typical for this part of the neighborhood. It’s always busy around here. There’s a constant flow of people going to the markets or heading to the metro station nearby. I spend most of my time right here at the house, taking care of the daily tasks that need doing. It’s not always easy keeping everything running smoothly, especially with the power cuts we get sometimes during the summer. I don't really have a big staff helping me out, just the people living here and some help from the neighbors when needed. We've got a small space set aside for work, and it's mostly filled with papers and things we've collected over the years. It’s a lived-in space, not something you’d see in a magazine. I like the fact that everything I need is within walking distance. Life in Kukatpally can be hectic, but inside the house, we try to keep things as calm as possible while we get through the day’s work. There is always a lot of traffic on the main road outside, but we are used to it by now. The tea seller at the corner makes a great cup of ginger chai.
