S L R Wood Export & Import Company

Down on Ganesh Temple Road in Sachivalaya Nagar, you'll find us at S L R Wood Export & Import Company. It's usually pretty loud around here because of the traffic and the temple visitors, but we've gotten used to it over the years. We handle a lot of timber and different kinds of wood that come and go throughout the day. The yard is almost always full of stacks of planks and logs, so there isn't much room to move around. You’ll probably smell the sawdust before you even see the sign. Most of the guys here have been working with wood since they were young, so we just get on with the unloading and sorting without much fuss. The sun hits the front of the building quite hard in the afternoon, making it a bit stuffy inside. We usually take our breaks at the small tea stall just a few doors down. It’s a messy job sometimes, getting splinters and dust on everything, but that’s just how it goes in this business. We deal with the export and import side of things, which means a lot of checking lists and making sure the trucks are loaded properly. It’s a lot of physical work, especially when the heavy shipments arrive. We don’t have a fancy showroom, just the workspace and the stacks of wood waiting for their next stop. It's dusty work but we stay busy.
