Royal Carpets

The shop is located at 11-3-554, right near Anwar Ul Loom College in Mallepally. If you’ve ever walked that way during lunch hour, you’ve probably seen the crowds of students everywhere. We’ve been here at Royal Carpets for a long time, selling all kinds of floor coverings to whoever walks in. It’s a small place, honestly. We have carpets stacked so high that sometimes I worry they might tip over if someone leans on them the wrong way. My father started this business back when Mallepally was much quieter than it is now. I took over a while back, and not much has changed since then. We don’t have a website or a social media page because we just don't see the point. Most people find us by word of mouth or by just seeing the rolls of carpet sitting out front. The shop gets a bit dusty because of the road right outside, so we spend a lot of time with a broom in hand. It’s not glamorous work, but it keeps us busy. We don’t have fancy air conditioning, just a couple of old fans that rattle when you turn them on high. Sometimes people come in and spend an hour looking at different shades of red or brown, and we just let them take their time. We aren’t in a hurry. When the sun goes down, we roll the carpets back inside, lock the shutters, and head home. It is a simple routine that has worked for us for years.
