If you come down to Asif Nagar Ps Raod, you’ll find us at 12-1-863/1. It’s a bit of a crowded area and parking can be a real headache, but we like the energy of Asif Nagar. Inside Curtain Gallery, there’s fabric everywhere. We have rolls of cloth leaning against the walls and stacks of hangers with different patterns. It smells like new cotton and a bit of dust. We spend a lot of time with measuring tapes around our necks. People come in with windows of all shapes and sizes, and we have to figure out how much cloth it will take to cover them. It’s a lot of math and sometimes we get it wrong and have to start over. The sewing machines in the back are always humming away. It’s not a quiet place, but it’s a good kind of noise. My cousin helps me out on the weekends when it gets busy. We don’t have a website or anything like that, people just find us by walking past or hearing about us from their neighbors. We try to keep things simple. If a customer wants something plain, we show them the plain stuff. If they want something bright, we dig through the stacks until we find it. It’s just a small shop where we work hard and try to make sure every piece of fabric is cut straight and every customer gets what they need.
