You can find Standard Engineering Electric Co. at No. 5-4-100/101/1 on Mg Road in the Ranigunj area. This part of town is famous for all kinds of hardware and electrical shops, and we have been right here in the middle of it for a long time. Our shop is filled with all sorts of electrical components, motors, and wiring stuff. It’s a bit of a maze inside with boxes stacked up to the ceiling. We deal with a lot of industrial folks and contractors who need specific parts for their projects. Ranigunj is always crowded and noisy, with trucks loading and unloading constantly. We’re used to the chaos. Inside, we try to keep some kind of order so we can find the right switch or capacitor when a customer asks. We don't have a fancy sales pitch. People usually come in knowing exactly what they need, or they bring a broken part and ask if we have a replacement. Sometimes we have to order things in, but we usually have the basics ready to go. The building is old and the floors are a bit uneven, but it serves us well. We aren't trying to look like a modern retail store. We are an engineering and electric supply spot, plain and simple. We know our stock and we know the regulars who have been coming to us for years. It’s hard work but we like being part of the trade here.
