R S Fashions is situated in Shop No 3 at G/3 Madhura Nagar. This part of Yousufguda is always full of life, and our little corner is no different. We started out with just a few shelves and a lot of hope. Now, the shop is pretty full of all kinds of outfits. We don't have a fancy layout. It is mostly just piles of clothes and some hangers wherever they would fit. The 500045 area is a good place to be because there are always people walking around. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, and we just sit outside on the steps until it comes back on. It gives us a chance to talk to the other shop owners on the block. We handle the sales and the cleaning ourselves. There is no cleaning crew coming in at night. If the floor is dusty, one of us grabs the broom. We try to be honest with people about what looks good and what doesn't. We aren't just trying to sell things to make a quota. It’s more about being a part of the neighborhood. Most of our regulars live within walking distance. They come in for a new shirt or maybe something for a festival. We keep a notebook to track what people are asking for so we can try to find it for next time. It’s a simple way to run a shop and it keeps us connected to Hyderabad. We generally eat our tiffins around two o’clock.
