R. L. Tools Sharpners

We are out here in Phase 2 of Cherlapally, at Plot. No. 211/C in the Ida. It’s an industrial area, so it’s never really quiet. Most of the day is spent with the machines running. We sharpen all sorts of tools that come in from the other factories nearby. It’s a messy job, really. There are metal shavings on the floor most days and the smell of oil is everywhere. You get used to it after a week or two. My father started this and now I just keep it going. We have a couple of guys who help out with the heavy stuff. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back on. It’s not a big fancy place, just a workshop with some old benches and a lot of grinding stones. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. If the door is open, someone is here working. The fans in the ceiling don't do much when it gets really hot in April, but we manage. People drop off their saw blades or drill bits and we get to them when the previous pile is done. It’s simple work but it keeps us busy from morning until evening. We’ve been in this same spot for years now and the neighbors know us well enough. It’s nothing special to look at, but we get the job done.
