Pragati Vidyaniketan High School

We are tucked away in Bapunagar, Amberpet, right next to the Ramanthapur Polytechnic building. The address is a bit of a long one, 2-3-512/A/137, but once you get anywhere near the polytechnic, we’re fairly easy to spot. Pragati Vidyaniketan is a high school where we mostly focus on the kids from the local neighborhood. It’s a basic building, nothing too modern or architectural, but it stays cool enough in the summer months. We have a decent number of classrooms and a small area where the kids gather for assembly in the mornings. You can usually hear the prayers and the morning announcements from all the way down the street. It’s a typical school environment, meaning it’s sometimes a bit chaotic, especially when the final bell rings for the end of the day and everyone rushes out. The teachers here have mostly been around for a long time, and we all know each other’s families pretty well. We don’t have a big marketing department or any glossy brochures to hand out. What you see when you walk in is exactly what you get. We have some wooden benches that have seen better days and chalkboards that are constantly being wiped down and reused. We try to keep the place tidy, but with hundreds of students running around, it’s a constant battle. The office is small and usually filled with stacks of registers and attendance books that keep us busy.
