Our workshop is tucked away in Patigadda, right across from the Begumpet Police Station. It's easy to miss if you aren't looking for the Indian Airlines Colony. We’ve been at this spot for years, dealing with all sorts of mechanical bits and pieces. There’s usually a bit of grease on the floor and the sound of tools is constant throughout the day. We handle various engineering tasks, mostly small-scale things that local businesses or individuals bring in. It's not a sterile environment like those big factories you see on TV. We have our old machines and we know exactly how they behave. Sometimes a job takes longer because a part is stuck or the measurement is tricky, but we just stay until it's sorted out. The office part is just a small desk covered in papers and drawings. We don't spend much time there unless we're checking a blueprint. Most of the time we are out on the floor getting our hands dirty. Being near the police station means it's a familiar landmark for anyone trying to find us. We don't do much talking, just focus on the metal and the machines. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy. People come to us when they have a problem that needs a practical fix. We don't mind the noise, it's just part of our day-to-day life here. The neighbors are used to it by now. We just get on with the job.
