Konam Fish Mart

We are set up on the street near Mohanasundaram Hospital, right off the SBI Road in Nijampeat. If you see the Bata Showroom, you are pretty much there. Konam Fish Mart is just a local spot where we handle the daily catch and get things ready for the neighborhood. It gets busy early in the mornings when the deliveries come in. The floors are usually a bit wet, and there is always plenty of ice around to keep things fresh. We don't have a big marketing team or a fancy website. It is just a shop where we work hard and talk to the regulars who come in every day. The street can get pretty cramped with cars and bikes, but people always find their way to us. We’ve been in this part of Nijampeat for a while, and we know most of the faces that pass by. It is noisy and sometimes a bit chaotic, but that is just how a fish mart is supposed to be. We don't use any high-tech systems, just scales and a bit of muscle to move the crates around. Some days are slower than others, especially when the weather is bad and the supply is short. But we show up every day anyway. It's honest work and it keeps us busy from dawn until we close up for the night. We just try to keep the place clean and the bins full for whoever stops by.
