Bharath Aquarium

Bharath Aquarium is at 16-9-750/B on Race Course Road in the Ajanta Colony part of Old Malakpet. Our shop is a bit of a local fixture in this neighborhood. We have been here on Race Course Road for a while, and the shop is filled from floor to ceiling with glass tanks of all different sizes. It can get a bit crowded when a few people come in at the same time because the aisles are narrow. We spend most of our day siphoning water and making sure the fish are fed. The light in the shop is mostly from the aquarium lamps, which gives the whole place a bit of a glow. Ajanta Colony is a nice area, and we get a lot of people walking by in the evenings after they finish their work in Old Malakpet. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything; we just put our fish out where people can see them. The walls have some old stains from water splashes, and the front door squeaks every time someone opens it. We just talk to people like normal neighbors when they come in. There isn't any pressure to buy anything. We’re just here doing our thing and taking care of the tanks day in and day out. It’s a regular shop run by regular people who just happen to spend their lives around fish and water. We stay here until late most nights.
