Mariyam Bangles

Our shop is located at 18-7-425/2/1 in Mogulpura. We are right by the Talabkatta Chacha Garage and not far from Owaisi High School. It’s a busy neighborhood with a lot of noise from the garage and the kids playing outside after school. We focus on selling bangles, mostly to the local families who live around here. The shop isn’t very big, but we make use of every inch of wall space to hang the displays. We get a lot of dust from the street, so we have to wipe down the glass cases every morning before we open. It’s a daily routine that we don’t really think about anymore. We see a lot of students walking past our door every afternoon. Sometimes they stop in to look at the shiny stones on the bangles. We don’t use any complicated machines or computers here. We just count the bangles by hand and wrap them in old newspaper for the customers to take home. It’s a very practical way of doing things. We’ve known the people at the garage for years, and we often help each other out if someone needs something. The community here is tight-knit. We don’t put on any acts or try to look bigger than we are. We are just a small shop in Mogulpura doing what we know how to do. Every day is pretty much the same, and we are quite content with that.
