Sri Durga Bhavani Bangle Store

Our little shop, Sri Durga Bhavani Bangle Store, is located at H No 8-5-131/7 in the Durga Nagar area. It’s a small place in Rajendra Nagar where we keep a lot of glass and metal bangles stacked up on the shelves. Most of the women from around the neighborhood stop by, especially when there is a festival coming up or a wedding in the family. It can get a bit tight inside when three or four people are looking at once. I spend a lot of time just dusting the boxes because the road outside brings in a lot of dirt. The colors are quite bright, with all the greens and reds catching the light in the afternoon. Sometimes a bangle breaks while someone is trying it on, and we just have to sweep it up and keep going. We also have some small hair clips and safety pins because people always ask for them. My daughter helps me out after her school is over, mostly just chatting with the customers and helping them match colors to their sarees. It’s not a big business with fancy lights, just a regular local store where we know most of the faces. We open early and stay until the street gets quiet. It’s nice to be part of the community here and see the kids grow up over the years. We just keep things simple.
