Our shop, Mansure Textiles And Readymades, is right on the Bala nagar Main road at #3-48, shop no.1. Being on the main road means we see a lot of traffic and people every single day. It can get very loud with the buses and trucks going by, but it’s a good spot for a business. We have been here in Bala Nagar for some time now. The shop is on the ground floor, so it’s easy for anyone to just step inside. We sell both unstitched textiles and readymade clothes. Most of our day is spent unfolding fabric for people to look at and then folding it back up neatly. It takes a lot of time to keep the stacks looking right. The shop is narrow but deep, so we have shelves all the way to the back. We use old-fashioned tube lights that hum a little bit if they’ve been on too long. There is a small desk near the front where we handle the cash and talk to the regulars. We don’t have any fancy sales pitches. If someone likes a fabric, they buy it. We just try to be helpful when they ask where something is. Bala Nagar is a busy working area, and we fit right in with the other shops on the street. It’s a practical place for practical people who need clothes or cloth. We stay here until late evening and then head home like everyone else.
