M Osman H/L Textiles

If you walk down Farhat Nagar Road in Purani Haveli, you'll see us at 7-11-24. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for a long time. M Osman H/L Textiles is really just a traditional textile shop. We don’t have fancy mannequins or bright neon signs. It’s mostly just bolts of fabric stacked up. The area has a lot of history and you can feel it when you walk around. We open the shutters every morning and start by cleaning the dust off the counters. Most of our customers are folks who live nearby and have known us for years. We talk about the weather or the local news while they pick out what they want. It’s a slow pace of life here compared to the newer parts of the city. We don't use much technology besides the basic stuff. We prefer to do business with a handshake and a conversation. The shop gets a bit warm in the summer but the high ceilings help a little. We carry a lot of handloom and regular fabrics that people use for their everyday clothes. We aren't trying to change the world. We just like being part of the Purani Haveli community and keeping the shop running just like it always has been. Usually, we close for a bit in the afternoon to have some tea and a rest. It is a quiet existence but we wouldn't have it any other way.
