You’ll find Lotus Lap Public School tucked behind the Saibaba Temple in Kothapet, right at Plot B7 in the Huda Complex. Dilsukhnagar is a crowded area, so being slightly tucked away helps a bit with the noise, though you can still hear the temple bells and the traffic. We’ve been running this school for a while now, and the building has that lived-in feel you get with places full of children. We don’t have fancy elevators, just standard classrooms and a lot of stairs. The staff here arrives early to get everything ready before the buses start pulling in. It’s a lot of work keeping track of so many students, and sometimes things get a bit chaotic in the office when it’s time for fees or exams. We try to keep the fans running and the lights on, even when the power acts up. The teachers are regular people who live nearby and care about the kids doing okay in their tests. We see a lot of the same families year after year, as younger siblings follow the older ones. It’s not a corporate chain; we are right here on the ground. We mostly worry about the day-to-day things, like making sure the water coolers are full and the homework diaries are signed. The stairs can be a bit of a climb if your classroom is on the top floor, especially in the heat. We have some plants in pots near the entrance, but they struggle with the dust from the road. We just do our best with what we have here.
