Laxmi Prasanna Borewells

Down in Abhudaya Nagar, you can find Laxmi Prasanna Borewells at Plot No. 304 in the S Manson building. This part of L. B. Nagar is always busy, and we are right in the middle of it in the Rangareddy district. Drilling borewells is not a quiet job. We have the big rigs and the long pipes that we have to move around, which takes a lot of space. Sometimes the neighbors might find the noise a bit much, but everyone needs water eventually. Telangana can be very dry, so we are always going out to different spots to see if we can find a good source underground. Our office in the building is just a place to keep the logs and the maps. Most of our real work happens out on the dusty ground at someone’s site. We carry a lot of heavy equipment and the trucks are always covered in mud or red dirt from the last job. We do not wear suits or have meetings in boardrooms. We just talk over the sound of the engines and make sure the pipes are going in straight. It is a tough line of work and the hours can be very long if we hit hard rock. But we have been doing this in the district for a while now and we know the ground pretty well. We just take it one hole at a time until the water comes.
