Powertronics

We are set up at Plot No. 5 in the extension of the Electronic Complex in Kushaiguda. Being in an electronic complex means we’re surrounded by other people doing similar things, which is nice. We focus on power electronics and fixing things that have stopped working. The benches are usually covered in soldering irons, wires, and circuit boards that we’re testing. It’s a bit of a mess to the untrained eye, but we know where everything is. My glasses always seem to be sliding down my nose while I’m looking at a small component. We don't have a fancy reception area. If you come by, you’ll probably just walk straight into the workspace. It’s bright under the fluorescent lights, which we need to see the tiny parts we work with. We’ve been here in Kushaiguda for a good while and have seen the complex grow. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, and we have to wait it out with some tea. We aren't a massive factory. We’re just a small group of technicians who enjoy figuring out why a piece of equipment isn't turning on. It’s satisfying when you finally hear that beep that means it’s fixed. We keep our records in a simple computer and some handwritten logs. It’s a practical way to run things. We’re here most days from morning until evening, just working through the pile of repairs.
