We are based out of B-2 in the Electronic Complex over in Kushaigoda. This whole area is dedicated to shops and businesses like ours, so there is always a lot of technical talk happening around the water cooler. Our unit is fairly standard for the complex, with workbenches lined up and soldering stations ready to go. There’s a specific smell to an electronics shop—a mix of warm metal and plastic—that you notice the second you walk through the door. We spend our hours looking at circuit boards and tiny components that most people wouldn’t even recognize. It’s quiet work that requires a lot of concentration, so we don't have many distractions around the office. The shelving units are packed with various parts and we try our best to keep them labeled, though things sometimes get mixed up when we’re in a hurry. The complex can get quite busy in the mornings when everyone is arriving at once, but it settles down into a steady rhythm by noon. We don’t bother with fancy decorations or marketing posters on the walls. We just keep our heads down and focus on the assemblies and repairs that come across our desks. It’s a solid place to work and the other people in the complex are good about helping out if someone needs a specific tool or a bit of advice on a tricky board.
