K.K Kirana & General Store

K.K Kirana & General Store is over by Mch Park Lane in the Parsigutta area. We are right opposite the Dr. Ysr Municipal Park, which is nice because of all the trees across the street. People often stop here after taking a walk in the park to get a bottle of water or some snacks. The shop is small, and we have bags of grain stacked up on the floor near the entrance. I have to move them every morning when I open the shutters. It is a bit of a workout. We carry all the basic stuff like spices, oils, and snacks. My cousin usually sits with me in the afternoons when it is slow. We just talk and watch the people going into the park. The walls inside are painted a pale yellow, but they have some marks from where we lean the tall ladder to reach the top shelves. We do not have those fancy barcode scanners. I just know the prices of everything by heart, or I check my little book. In the evenings, the streetlights come on and the mosquitoes start buzzing, so we light a coil near the door. It is a steady life, just selling things to the neighborhood people and making sure the shelves do not stay empty for too long. Sometimes we run out of milk early and have to tell people to come back tomorrow. We just keep on going.
