Jyothi School

Jyothi School sits at Door No 12-8-275/1/A/1 in Mettuguda, Hyderabad. It’s right there in the middle of a busy residential area. You can hear the trains from the nearby station sometimes if the wind is right. The school is a bit of a maze with different rooms for different ages. We have been here for a long time, so most people in Mettuguda know where we are. The front entrance is right on the street. In the mornings, the street gets really crowded with parents dropping off their kids. It’s a lot of chaos for about twenty minutes, then it gets quiet. Inside, the walls are covered with some old drawings the kids made. We have desks that have seen better days, but they do the job. The teachers are usually running around looking for their markers or attendance sheets. It’s not a polished place. It’s a working school. We have a small area for the younger kids to play, though it’s not very big. The Hyderabad heat means we rely on the ceiling fans a lot. You’ll find the office staff typing away on old computers most of the day. It’s just a regular spot for learning. Nothing too fancy. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us doing the work every day for the families nearby. The bell rings at the end of the day and everything repeats again tomorrow. It’s a very practical way to run a school.
