Jai Gurudev Medical And General Store is located in Ashok Nagar, right across from Bethany Church in Parsigutta. It is a busy spot in Hyderabad. We have been here for a while now, and the shop is a mix of all sorts of things. Half of the shelves are full of medicines and syrups, and the other half has things like biscuits, soap, and notebooks. It can be a bit cramped when three or four people come in at once. The fans hum all day to keep the place cool, though it still gets stuffy when the sun hits the front door. We keep the most common things right at the front so people can get what they need quickly and head back to work. I spend a lot of time checking the expiry dates on the boxes and making sure the fridge for the insulin is working right. The traffic outside on the road is always loud, with horns honking and buses going by. We see a lot of people coming from the church or the nearby houses. It is a lot of standing around and waiting for the next person to walk in. Sometimes the delivery trucks are late because of the Hyderabad traffic, and I have to explain that to the regulars. It is just a regular shop where we try to keep things organized. We don't have fancy lights or any big signs inside.
