J L L Construction is based at 2, Nanakram Guda Road in Gachibowli. If you’ve been to Gachibowli lately, you know how much it has changed with all the new buildings going up everywhere. We are right in the middle of it all. Our space is usually a mess of site photos, permits, and measuring tapes that never seem to get put back in the right spot. It’s a small place for the amount of work we try to juggle. We spend a lot of time sitting in traffic trying to get from one side of Gachibowli to the other. The dust from all the nearby construction sites usually finds its way inside, so we are always wiping down the desks before we start. It’s a pretty casual environment here. We don’t really do the whole corporate suit thing; we’re more about boots and jeans because we’re always stepping onto some site or another. The phone rings a lot, usually someone asking about a delivery or a timeline. We try to keep up, but some days are just a scramble from start to finish. We’ve got a couple of old computers that take forever to load the big files, which gives us time to chat and have a tea break. We just do the construction work that needs doing around here. It’s a lot of long hours and sometimes we’re still here when the streetlights come on, just trying to finish the day's notes and prepare for the next morning. It is a lot of work.
