Indiana Hotel

Indiana Hotel is located at 9-4-15, right opposite the railway station in Secunderabad. Being this close to the station means there is never a dull moment. You can hear the trains arriving and the announcements from across the road at all hours. We get a lot of travelers who are just stepping off a train and looking for a place to rest their heads for a night or two. The building is older, and the stairs are a bit narrow, but it serves its purpose. We have rooms that are basic—a bed, a fan, and a bathroom. The windows look out over the street, so you can watch the taxis and autos lining up outside the station gates. The lobby is small, with just a desk and a couple of chairs for people waiting to check in. We spend a lot of our time changing linens and making sure the water is running okay. Secunderabad can get very hot, so the fans are always spinning. The staff stays behind the counter mostly, dealing with the paperwork and keys. It’s a 500003 area code place, deeply rooted in the transit life of the city. We don’t have room service or a gym, just the essentials for someone who needs a bed near the tracks. It’s honest work keeping the rooms ready for the next passenger. The reception desk is covered in old magazines and a bell that people ring if no one is there. We have a small cupboard where we keep the extra pillows and blankets. The paint in the hallways is a light shade of cream that's started to peel in the corners. We don't have an elevator, so people have to carry their bags up the stairs. It’s a good workout for everyone. The water pressure can be a bit low in the mornings when everyone is trying to bathe at once. We just tell people to wait a few minutes.
