Govinda

Our place is called Govinda and you can find us at Door No 5-4-143. We are on the ground floor of the Hare Krishna Land Building. This is right on Nampally Station Road in the Abids area of Hyderabad. It’s a very central location, so there is always something happening outside on the street. If you know where Pullareddy Sweets is, we are just opposite that. Abids is an old part of the city and it has its own rhythm. The traffic on the station road can be quite a mess sometimes, especially in the evenings when everyone is heading home. We open up early to get things ready for the day. Being in the Hare Krishna Land building gives the place a certain feel, I suppose. We get people who are heading to the station or folks who are out shopping in Abids. It’s not a very big space, but we keep it tidy. The staff is mostly local guys who have been working in the area for years. We don't do any flashy advertising or anything. People usually just see the sign and walk in. We spend the afternoon preparing for the next day and making sure the supplies are stocked up. Hyderabad gets really hot, so the tiled floors help keep things a bit cooler inside. It’s just a regular day of work for us. We’ve been here a while and we’re just part of the neighborhood now.
