Goldsmith

My workshop is located at House Number 8-3-228/641 in Rahmath Nagar, which is part of the Yousufguda area in Hyderabad. The pincode is 500045 for anyone looking on a map. I have been working as a goldsmith for many years now, mostly doing repairs and small custom pieces for people who live nearby. It is a small space filled with old tools, a workbench, and a small torch for soldering. Rahmath Nagar is a very busy and crowded part of the city, and my shop is right in the middle of it. People bring in broken gold chains or rings that don't fit anymore, and I spend my time fixing them by hand. It takes a lot of patience and the light isn't always the best, but I get it done. I don't have a big jewelry store with glass cases and security guards. It's just me and my tools. I’ve lived in this part of Andhra Pradesh, now Telangana, for a long time and I know most of the families around here. They trust me with their items because I’ve been sitting at this same bench for so long. The work is slow and it makes my eyes tired by the end of the day, but it’s a good trade. There’s always the sound of hammers or people talking outside in the street. I just focus on the metal and the fire until the job is finished. It is honest work done one piece at a time.
