We are up on the 2nd floor at 1-10-92. Being on the second floor makes it a bit quieter than the shops down on the street level, which is good for what we do. Dealing with diamonds requires a lot of concentration and good light. Most of the day, we are sitting at the desks with our loupes, looking at the stones and checking for any little marks. It’s a small office, very secure of course, so it doesn't have that walk-in shop feel. People usually come by appointment to look at stones or talk about what they want to buy. We spend a lot of time sorting through tiny packets of diamonds. It can be hard on the eyes after a few hours, so we take breaks to have some coffee and look out the window. We’ve been in this building for a long time and we know the other businesses on the floor. It’s a professional environment but we keep it pretty relaxed inside our own space. We don’t go for big talk or fancy sales pitches. We just show the stones for what they are and let people decide. It’s a business built on trust, and we’ve been here long enough that people know our faces. We just try to keep things simple and honest, which seems to work best in the long run for everyone involved with the business.
