Geetanjali Hotel. Abids. We are right on Tilak Road, across the lane from Surya Theatre. If you’re looking for us, just look for the theater and you’re basically there. The hotel is an old building, 4-1-938/26/A. It has a lot of character, which is a nice way of saying it’s seen better days, but we keep it clean. The lobby is small. We spend a lot of time talking to travelers who are just passing through Hyderabad. Abids is a busy area, so there’s always something going on outside. You can hear the traffic and the people at all hours. We have a regular crew that’s been working here for years. We know the local shopkeepers and where to get the best biryani nearby. The rooms are simple. No fancy stuff, just beds and fans and the basics. We handle the check-ins and the keys and the laundry. Sometimes the plumbing is a bit temperamental but we fix it. It’s a family-run kind of vibe. We treat people like neighbors. It gets really busy during the festival seasons. We’re usually tired by the end of the day, sitting on the bench out front just watching the cars go by. It’s a good life in a busy part of town. We keep a register by the desk that's nearly full. Every guest has a story. We're just here to give them a place to sleep.
