Don Bosco School

Out here in Bandlaguda, things are changing fast, but our school stays pretty much the same day to day. We are located at the number 0 spot on the map in this part of Hyderabad, and you can usually hear the sound of the children playing from quite a distance. It’s a big enough place, but it feels like a small community because the staff has been together for a long time. We don't spend money on big posters or radio ads because everyone in the area already knows where we are. The school day starts early, and we see the yellow buses pulling in one by one. Our classrooms have wooden benches that have been sat on by many students over the years. We try to keep things organized, though sometimes the office gets a bit messy with paperwork and old files. It's a regular school where we focus on getting through the lessons. During the breaks, the grounds get very loud with football or just kids running around in circles. We have some trees that provide a bit of shade during the hotter months, which is lucky for us. The teachers usually bring their own lunch and eat together in the staff room. It isn't a corporate office; it’s just a place of learning where we try to do a decent job every day. We see the kids grow up from small children into teenagers, and that’s just the natural cycle of things here.
