Our place is right inside the Sai Baba Temple Complex in Rethibowli. If you know Mehdipatnam, you know how busy this whole area gets, especially near the temple. We’ve been here for a good bit of time now. It’s a small space, but we manage to fit everything we need inside. You can usually hear the sounds from the street while we work. We focus on designing clothes that people actually want to wear in their daily lives. It isn't anything fancy or over the top. Most people stop by while they are out doing their regular shopping or after visiting the temple. We have a few racks and a lot of measuring tapes hanging around. It can get a little crowded when a few people come in at once, but we make it work somehow. The light in here is okay, but we mostly rely on our desk lamps for the detailed bits of the work. Mehdipatnam is always moving, so we try to keep up with that pace. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us doing the cutting and sewing. It’s hard work and the days are long, but seeing a finished piece makes it worth it. We get a lot of locals who have been coming to us for years. They know where to find us in the complex. It is just a regular shop where we try to do a decent job with the fabrics people bring us and keep things moving every day.
