D A V Public School sits right in the middle of Vivekananda Nagar over in Kukatpally. If you know the area, you know how busy it gets around here. Our gate is usually the first thing people see when they turn the corner into this part of the neighborhood. We spend a lot of our time making sure things stay organized because there are so many students coming and going every single day. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of classrooms and hallways that get pretty loud during the breaks. The staff room is always a bit of a mess with papers and tea cups everywhere, but we know where everything is. We don't have a huge playground, but the kids make do with the space we have. You’ll often find them playing quick games of cricket or just hanging out near the entrance before class starts. The building itself is sturdy, though we are always fixing a leaky tap or a creaky door somewhere. It’s just part of running a school in a place like Kukatpally. We see the same faces every morning, from the shopkeepers nearby to the parents dropping off their kids on scooters. It’s a very local feel, even though it’s a big city. We don’t really go for anything flashy; we just stick to the schedule and try to keep the classrooms reasonably quiet so the teaching can happen. When the sun starts to set, the building finally gets some peace and we get ready for the next day.
