Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan'S Vidyashram

Our school sits inside the NIRD Campus in Rajendra Nagar, Hyderabad. Because we are on a campus like this, we have a lot of greenery and trees around us. It makes the air feel a bit fresher than the rest of the city. The birds are often louder than the students in the early morning. We have several buildings and a good amount of space for the kids to walk between classes. It’s not a cramped city school. Most of the staff has been here for a long time, so we know each other's habits pretty well. We spend our days managing the classrooms and making sure the supplies are stocked. The Vidyashram has a specific feel to it, maybe because of the old trees or the way the sun hits the courtyards in the afternoon. We don't spend money on fancy decorations; we just keep the place tidy. Sometimes we have to deal with monkeys coming onto the grounds, which is always a bit of a distraction for the students. Lunch breaks are spent under the shade of the trees. It’s a quiet life here compared to the busy roads outside the NIRD gates. We just do the daily work of running a school without making much noise about it. At the end of the day, the campus gets very still and we head out through the main security gate.
