If you are looking for us, we are tucked away in Phase-2 of the T.C.I.E. industrial area in Balanagar. Our spot is B-14, and most people find us by looking for the Andhra Bank nearby. Being in an industrial estate means it’s never really quiet. There is always the sound of trucks or some machine humming in the background. At Bharat Mining & Drilling Engineers, we spend most of our time dealing with heavy equipment and technical drawings. The floor usually has a bit of dust on it no matter how much we sweep, but that’s just how it goes in this line of work. We’ve been at this Balanagar location for a good stretch of time now. The tea stall at the corner of the lane is where we usually end up for our afternoon break. It’s a no-nonsense kind of place. We don’t have any shiny reception desks or fancy decorations. We have our tools, our desks, and a lot of work that keeps us busy from morning until late in the evening. The heat in the summer can get pretty intense inside the shed, so we keep the fans running full speed. It’s a gritty environment, but it suits us just fine. Most of our neighbors are doing similar work, so there is a sense of being in it together. We just show up, do the drilling and engineering work needed, and head home.
