Ashwas School

You’ll find Ashwas School over at Plot No-51 in Brindavan Colony. It’s a nice little spot in Kukatpally. We started out with just a few rooms and over time we’ve just kept going. The school isn't trying to be anything it’s not. We provide a place for kids to come and learn their basic subjects. We have a small playground area, but it gets pretty dusty in the dry season. The kids don't seem to mind though. They are usually just happy to be outside for twenty minutes. Our staff is mostly local people from around this part of Hyderabad. We don't have a lot of big meetings or fancy speeches. We just check the registers and start the lessons. Sometimes we have to remind the kids to tuck in their shirts or bring their notebooks. It’s a very normal, everyday kind of place. We know the neighbors and we try not to make too much noise, although that’s hard with a hundred kids in one building. The classrooms have the usual stuff on the walls. We don't spend money on big advertisements. People usually find out about us by talking to their neighbors in Brindavan Colony. We just try to keep the doors open and the environment steady. It’s a simple life running a school like this. We just take it one day at a time and focus on the students who are here and ready to learn.
