Our spot is tucked away in the My Home Mount View Apartments over in Navodaya Colony. If you know Khairatabad, you know how crowded the roads can get around here most of the time. We work out of this space where B Venkateshwar Rao is located. Dealing with fish means there is a lot of ice involved and things have to move fast before anything gets warm. It is not like a regular retail shop where people just wander in and look around. It is more of a base for us to coordinate what we are doing for the day. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking the crates that come in. The apartment complex is a bit of a landmark for people in this part of Hyderabad. Working in a residential area like this has its own rhythm compared to a big industrial zone. You get to know the neighbors and the security guards pretty well after a while. Sometimes the logistics of getting things in and out through the narrow lanes of Khairatabad can be a real headache. We just deal with it as it comes. It is mostly about making sure the fish is handled right and nothing sits around for too long. We don’t have any fancy signs or big posters on the walls. It is just a practical setup for the work we do every single day without much fuss.
