Our spot is at No. 4-4-16 in the Sikhwal Chambers, which most people know is right near the Mahankali Police Station. Being on Subash Road in Raniginj means there is never a dull moment outside. At Anoo Creations, we mostly focus on getting the work done rather than worrying about how the shop looks to people passing by. The staircase leading up to the office can be a bit steep, but it’s part of the charm of these older buildings in Raniginj. We have a few sewing machines going in the back, and that constant clicking sound becomes like background music after a few hours. The Mahankali Street area gets quite packed during the festivals, and sometimes we just stand by the door watching the crowds for a bit. Inside, there are stacks of patterns and fabric samples everywhere. We try to keep things in order, but when you're busy making things, a bit of a mess is bound to happen. It's a small team here, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, from answering the phone to packing up orders. The light from the window on Subash Road helps us see the fine details of the stitching. We’ve been in this chamber for some time now, and the walls are covered with old notes and measurements we’ve scribbled over the months. It’s a practical workspace for real work, nothing more and nothing less for us.
