Ankur English Medium School

If you walk through New Nallakunta, you’ll find us at this corner house number 2-2-1143/1. It’s a typical Hyderabad residential area, so we are right in the middle of the neighborhood. The school has been part of this street for years. You can hear the kids reciting their lessons if you pass by during the first period. We aren't a massive international campus with a swimming pool or anything like that. It’s a local school where the staff knows most of the parents by their first names. We have the usual desks, blackboards, and a small space for the kids to run around during the break. The building has seen many monsoons and we usually have to repaint after the rains. Sometimes the bell rings a minute late, or the chalk dust gets everywhere, but that’s just how a real school feels. Parents like that they can just walk over to drop their kids off instead of putting them on a long bus ride. We focus on the textbooks and making sure the homework gets done. It’s a quiet life here most days, except for the annual day when things get a bit chaotic with the costumes and the rented speakers. We just try to keep things organized and make sure the children are learning their English and math properly without too much fuss. It is a simple place for simple learning.
