Anjali High School

Anjali High School is located out in Peerzadiguda. It’s a part of Hyderabad that has changed a lot lately, but the school stays pretty much the same. We have been here since before the roads were even paved properly. It’s a simple building that serves the local families around Peerzadiguda. You won’t find any big glass windows or fancy elevators here. It’s just stairs, classrooms, and a lot of chalk dust. The kids bring their lunch boxes and sit under the shade when it’s hot. We have a small playground where they run around during the break. Sometimes the dust from the nearby construction gets inside, so we are always sweeping. It’s a busy place during the week. Parents stop by the office to talk about their kids’ progress or pay fees. We know most of the people who walk through our doors by their first names. It’s that kind of neighborhood. The staff rooms are usually cluttered with textbooks and registers. We don’t have a lot of bells and whistles. It’s just a place where teaching happens every day. The morning commute for some of us can be a bit long depending on the traffic in Hyderabad, but once we get to Peerzadiguda, it feels like home. We’ve watched many kids grow up here and move on. It’s just a steady, honest place to work and learn. People here just want their kids to do well in life.
