Right here in the 500004 area of Hyderabad, at 6-2-39/4, you’ll find Amma Art Creations. It’s a place where we make things. We do a lot of handiwork and artistic stuff. It’s not a mass production factory or anything like that. Everything is done by hand. The shop is often messy with paint or glue or whatever we are using that day. We don't have a big sign out front. People just find us. We make items that people use for their homes or for gifts. Sometimes it takes a long time to finish one piece. We don't rush. The building is an old one. It stays cool even when it’s hot outside. We have been here for a good number of years. My family helps out when things get busy. We don't have fancy titles or anything. We just work. Sometimes we sell at local markets too. Mostly we stay here in Khairatabad. The street can get narrow so parking is a bit of a headache. Most people just walk over. We like talking to the customers who come in. They have good ideas sometimes. It’s a simple life of making things and selling them. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop. Just want to keep the art going. We spend a lot of time just sitting on the floor working. It's more comfortable that way for us. We have drawers full of beads and threads and old tools. Sometimes we lose track of time.
