Ambedkar High School

Ambedkar High School sits right inside the Janapriya Utopia Complex here in Rajendra Nagar. It is a busy place, especially around eight in the morning when all the parents are dropping their kids off and trying to find a spot to turn their scooters around. We have been here for a while now, and the building has seen its fair share of scuffed walls and worn-out stairs from all the running around. It’s not a quiet spot by any means. You can hear the teachers talking and the kids shouting from the playground all the way to the main gate. The staff room is small and usually filled with stacks of notebooks and half-empty tea cups. We don’t have fancy elevators or anything like that, just the stairs that everyone complains about on Monday mornings. Rajendra Nagar is a crowded area, so we are used to the noise from the traffic outside leaking into the classrooms. Sometimes the power goes out and we just open the windows and keep going. It’s a bit dusty because of the construction nearby, but we keep the fans going to help. Most of the kids come from right around the complex, so it feels like one big neighborhood gathering every single day. We spend a lot of time just organizing the lines for assembly and making sure nobody forgot their water bottle at the gate. It is just a regular school doing its thing in Hyderabad.
