Aligarh Modern School

Down in Serilingampally, things are changing fast with all the new buildings going up, but our school stays pretty much the same. We are located in the 500019 area, which is a bit of a commute for some, but most of our students live nearby. The school day starts early, and you can see the yellow buses or the auto-rickshaws lined up outside. It’s a bit of a mess with the traffic for a few minutes every morning. The building is a decent size, but we use every single corner of it. There are books piled up in the office and posters on the walls that have been there for years. We have a small playground area, but it’s mostly just dirt and some old equipment. The kids don’t seem to mind, they just want to run around during the lunch hour. It gets really hot in the afternoons, so we keep the blinds down to stop the sun from hitting the desks directly. The teachers are a mix of older folks who have been here forever and some newer faces. We all drink our tea together in the small break area. It’s not a corporate environment; it’s more like a big, slightly disorganized family. Sometimes the bells don't ring on time because someone forgot to check the clock. We just fix it and move on. It’s a regular school for regular families in this part of the city.
