Al Haq Cloth Centre

We are set up inside the Madina Towers Complex, units 42 and 43. It’s right inside Dewan Devdi, which is always a busy place. If you know the area, you know how the crowds get on a weekend. Our shop is full of rolls of cloth from floor to ceiling. It’s a bit narrow inside, but we make it work. We spend our days measuring out fabric and talking to people who come in. There’s always tea being passed around somewhere nearby. It’s not a quiet place at all. You can hear the sounds of the market all day long. We have been here for years, and we know most of the regular faces. We don't have a big website or anything like that. People just come in because they know we are here. Sometimes the stock arrives late and we have to scramble to get it all sorted. Other times it’s quiet and we just sit and watch the people go by. We try to keep a good variety of cloth so there’s something for everyone who walks through the door. It’s a family-run kind of thing. We don’t use any fancy sales talk or pushy tactics. If someone likes a fabric, they buy it. We just try to be helpful and fair with the prices. It’s a lively spot to spend the day and we wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Most of the other shopkeepers around here are like friends.
