Akshara Vidyalaya High School

Akshara Vidyalaya High School is located at Door No 14-4-368, right in the busy heart of Begum Bazar. It is a very active part of Hyderabad, as anyone living around the 500012 zip code can tell you. Our building is one of those typical structures you see all over this neighborhood. We have been here for many years now, watching the whole market change and grow around us. Being a high school, our focus is mostly on the older kids. It gets pretty loud outside with all the traders and the traffic, but everyone has gotten used to the noise by now. The staff room is often a bit of a mess with piles of notebooks and half-drunk tea cups because there is always something that needs grading. High-tech facilities with tablets aren't what we do; instead, we mostly still use blackboards and old-fashioned textbooks. It feels more traditional that way for everyone involved. Most of the students come from families living nearby or who work in the bazaar themselves. Knowing almost all the parents by their names is common here because they stop by often to chat or check on how their kids are doing. It is a straightforward operation. Doors open early in the morning and we close up after the last class is finally over. No big marketing team exists here. Every day, we just do our best to keep things running smoothly for everyone.
