Agarwal Doors & Plywood

Our place is in Kattedan, specifically at Plot No. 31/D/A. It’s usually smelling like fresh cut wood and adhesive around here. That’s just the nature of Agarwal Doors & Plywood. We have stacks of boards reaching almost to the ceiling. It can be a bit of a maze if you don't know where everything is. We spend most of the morning moving heavy sheets around. It’s hard work on the back, but we’re used to it. Carpenters come by often to pick out what they need for their current projects. We talk shop, maybe have a tea while they decide on the grain or the thickness. The Kattedan area is pretty industrial, so there’s always a lot of heavy traffic outside our gate. We try to keep things organized, but when a big shipment arrives, the whole floor gets covered in crates. Sometimes the phone rings and it’s someone asking for a specific size we have to go measure. We don't use any high-tech systems for that, just a tape measure and a pencil behind the ear. It’s a simple business. We deal with wood, we talk to people, and we make sure the trucks are loaded properly before they head out. It’s been this way for years and we don’t see any reason to change it now. There is always a layer of sawdust on everything, but that is just part of the job.
