Adharshila Convent School

Our school sits at 1-1-46 on S.D. Road in Secunderabad. It's a pretty well-known area and it stays busy with traffic all day long. We have been in this building for quite some time now. It’s a standard school setup where things are a bit old but everything is kept clean by the staff. The front gate opens up right to the main road, so we have to be careful when the kids are leaving in the afternoon. Inside, the rooms are filled with old wooden benches and blackboards. We don’t use much of that new technology you see in bigger cities. Most of our day is spent teaching the basics and making sure everyone follows the rules. The staff room is usually a mess of notebooks and tea cups, especially during the lunch break when we finally get a minute to sit down. You can hear the sounds of the city outside, but once the windows are shut, it’s not too bad. We have some plants in the corners that the kids help water. There is no big playground, but the children find ways to play in the spaces we have. It’s just a regular neighborhood school where families from around Secunderabad send their children. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just show up, do the work, and go home when the bells ring. It’s how it’s always been here.
