Granite 83

Our place is on Karwar Road in Anchatageri. The address is 1-5-7/8, but most people just look for the Granite 83 sign. It’s a bit out of the main city center, which gives us a little more room to breathe and store the bigger blocks. I started this because I liked working with my hands and stone is about as solid as it gets. Anchatageri is a quiet enough area, but Karwar Road stays busy with people traveling through. We aren't a big company with a lot of departments. If you call, you’re probably going to talk to me or one of the guys working in the yard. We spend a lot of time outside. The weather really dictates our day. If it’s pouring rain, we’re mostly stuck inside the small office area. When it’s clear, we’re out there with the machines. We don't use any fancy words to describe what we do. We sell granite. We cut it to the sizes people need. Sometimes we get pieces that have interesting veins or colors, and those are always fun to look at. But mostly, it’s just heavy slabs that need a lot of muscle to move around. We’ve been at this long enough to know which quarries are sending the good stuff. We just try to keep enough stock so people have a few choices when they stop by. There is no corporate polish here, just stone and hard work.
