Sri Ram Events & Entertainment

We are tucked away at 36 R N R C Ghat Road, right by the Shibpur Bazar. It’s very close to the post office, which is how most people find us if they get lost. Working in a bazaar area means it’s always loud and there’s always something happening outside the door. Sri Ram Events & Entertainment isn't a huge operation. We mostly have some stages, some lights, and a lot of wires. My brother handles the bookings and I look after the gear. We’ve been in Shibpur for years. The rain usually leaks a bit through the back door when it’s monsoon season, so we have to move everything to the middle of the room. It’s annoying but we deal with it. We don't spend money on fancy uniforms or brochures. Most of our work comes from neighbors and people we see at the market. Sometimes the trucks can't get through the narrow lanes, so we end up carrying things by hand. It builds muscle, I guess. We try to keep things simple. If there's an event, we show up and set it up. Then we take it down. That's about it. Not much else to say. We just work here and live here. The ceiling fan in the office wobbles a lot when it's on high speed, but it keeps us cool enough. We usually close up once the sun goes down unless there's a big job in the works. Every now and then, we have to borrow a ladder from the shop next door.
