Prity Hosiery

You can find Prity Hosiery in the basement of Pushpanjali Appartment, over at No. 28/1/2 Dobson Road. Being in a basement means it stays a bit cooler in the summer, which is nice, but it also means we have to keep the lights on all day long. We have a lot of stock kept in big plastic bags and cardboard boxes stacked against the walls. It’s mostly hosiery items, things that people use every day but don't think much about. I started this business after working for someone else in the same line for ten years. It’s just me and two other guys who help with the deliveries and keeping track of what’s coming in. The street outside is always packed with people and cars, so it’s a bit of a relief to step down into the shop where it’s quieter. We don't have any fancy displays or mannequins. Everything is just kept in its packaging until someone wants to buy it. We sell to small retailers and some individuals who know we are here. It’s a quiet life, mostly spent checking invoices and making sure the stock doesn't get damp during the rainy season. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in the city. We just want to do our work well and make sure the customers get what they asked for without any trouble. It is just a simple shop.
